The average life of this projector lamp is 6000-7000 hours. Replacing a new projector bulb is cheaper than upgrading the entire projector, and it can also be used as a spare lamp to replace a burned-out projector bulb.
To replace the projector lamp, follow these steps: 1. Unplug the power cord from the projector and allow the lamp to cool down. 2. Locate the lamp access panel on the projector, remove the screws, and remove the access panel. 3. Remove any screws holding the lamp housing into the projector. 4. Firmly pull the lamp housing out of the projector. 5. Place the new lamp housing into the projector in the same orientation as the old lamp. 6. Wiggle the lamp into place and ensure full contact is made inside the projector. 7. Replace the lamp mounting screws to secure the lamp in the projector. 8. Replace the lamp access panel and secure the screws. 9. Plug in the projector and power it on. 10. Reset the lamp counter, as some lamps will reset automatically when a new lamp is installed.
The projector lamp can be found by locating a square or rectangular plastic plate on the outside of the projector, usually on the bottom, top, or sides. This cover is secured by two screws, which should be removed to reveal the plastic housing (the module) that holds the projector lamp.
It is time to replace the lamp when: - The picture has become dull and lacks brightness. - There is an obvious decline in picture clarity and sharpness. - The lamp is flickering. - There is difficulty or a delay when turning the machine on. - A light comes on that warns the lamp may need replacement.
Note the following: 1. Let the lamp cool down before replacing it. If the lamp breaks, handle the shards carefully to avoid injury. 2. Do not touch the glass portion of the lamp assembly, as this could result in premature lamp failure. 3. Ensure the lamp is properly seated, and the lamp cover is secured. If the lamp is not properly installed or the cover is loose, the lamp will not turn on.
